Prevent Overdrafts with the Deposit Amount Required Endpoint

We’re excited to announce the release of our Deposit Amount Required endpoint! This release follows a growing interest in helping consumers anticipate and prevent potential overdrafts and missed bill payments.

Deposit_amount_required is the estimated amount a user needs to deposit into an account before their next paycheck to meet their upcoming bill payments and prevent an overdraft or NSF. This is calculated based on the current balance and the total amount of expected bill and subscription payments for a given account up until the next predicted income date.

Why it matters

For consumers who live paycheck to paycheck, it can be difficult to plan out how they should manage their spending before their next paycheck. With the deposit_amount_required endpoint, you can proactively notify your users of the estimated amount they need to deposit or borrow to avoid a default or missing an upcoming bill payment.

Use cases

  • Help improve your users’ financial health by helping prevent overdrafts and NSF fees
  • Leverage this in your underwriting models through our Attributes endpoint to determine a user’s ability to repay a loan or cash advance
